Techno island Koh Phangan

Hey everyone! 

Since I'm making some friends who don't speak dutch (its lots of fun to see them try though), I'll try writing in English. 

So last week I arrived at Koh Phangan, an island in the eastcoast of South-Thailand. And guess what? I finally had some sun!! Well, lots of sun actually, I have a red nose for prove. Too bad the weather changed and the rain is pouring down again, but at least it gives me some time to keep you guys up to date.

Obviously I started my sunny day here at the pool, but not before i had a toasty (tosti in dutch) from the 7/11 (a supermarket at every corner of the street). Did I tell you about those toasties yet? They are amazing. They come in lots of flavours like the original ham-cheese, sausage-cheese, pork with chillisauce, tuna&salmon and carbonara. You buy them unprepared, but if you want, the staff prepares your toasty behind the counter. Perfect for breakfast.     

After i had my first sunburn in Thailand I went out to rent a scooter. It took some time to find a place where I didn't have to leave my passport, but after some haggling(onderhandelen) I found a place where i could leave 5000Baht (150€) as a deposit. I then drove across the island with a Norwegian girl from the hostel. This was really, really nice. When driving a scooter in the sun, with the wind blowing in my face and stopping at waterfalls and quiet beaches i had a feeling of absolute freedom. It was a really good decision to rent my scooter for 5 days. 

The next days I spent more time riding across the island visiting nice beaches. One of the nights we went to the full moon party, an massive party at the beach with loads of neonlights, alcohol buckets, and electronic dance music. I went there with Esmee, a friend I know from work in holland, and a Canadian couple. We danced till 6 in the morning, this party was amazing! We spent the next day (what was left of it when i woke up at 2pm) in the Amsterdam Sunset bar. Even though it was cloudy we had a beautifull view over the sea. Offcourse there  was some sweet techno playing in this bar, just like in all the other bars at Koh Phangan. Oh and the coconutshake was delicious as well.

Tomorrow i'll say goodbye to this island I fell in love with. I'm coming back for sure. I'll fly to Chiang Mai, a big city in the North of thailand, so I can spend my last 2 weeks in Thailand exploring the North.
